Respiratory therapists collaborate to treat a variety of breathing-related problems, including:
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- asthma
- pneumonia
- tuberculosis
- pulmonary fibrosis
They care for people in:
- critical care;
- emergency departments;
- operating and recovery rooms;
- labour and delivery;
- diagnostic testing departments; and
- private homes
In addition to care in the hospital, our respiratory therapists offer the following outpatient services:
- asthma education clinics
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) services
- pulmonary function lab
