Insurance and financial responsibility
|
If you are using extra health insurance to pay for preferred accommodation (for example, a private room), you must provide registration staff with the following when you are admitted:
- your insurance company's name
- your policy and certificate number
- the name of the policy holder and policy group
It is your responsibility to verify your insurance coverage. Please note that the hospital cannot verify your insurance coverage.
If you have supplementary or extended insurance, we will bill your insurance company. If the insurer does not cover any part of your accommodation charges, you will be responsible for paying the remainder of your bill. When you are admitted, you must sign an accommodation/room request form and agreement.
If you do not have private insurance coverage but request and receive preferred accommodation, you must pay a three-day deposit when you register. Payment can be easily made with cash, cheque, debit or credit card for your estimated stay.
