For us, this annual holiday message has become one of our most cherished traditions. It is our opportunity to wish you a happy holiday season—one that is filled with the unique experiences that bring you comfort, meaning and joy.
It is also a chance for us to share our heartfelt gratitude to each of you—our Osler team members, donors, and government, health care and community partners—for your dedication to building a strong, sustainable future for health care.
This past year was one to remember. In 2024, shaped by your collective voices, we launched Osler’s 2024-29 Strategic Plan: Going Beyond for our people and communities, which reflects our shared vision for a modern, accessible, and inclusive health care system. We also launched the Osler Research Institute for Health Innovation, marking a historic chapter dedicated to driving groundbreaking research to improve patient care, health outcomes and system performance in our region.
Exciting steps were made toward transforming Peel Memorial into Brampton’s new hospital, which will bring much-needed services closer to home and increase health care capacity in our community for years to come. As the primary clinical partner of Toronto Metropolitan University’s new School of Medicine, we celebrated the accreditation of its medical programs that will help train the physicians of the future and support our academic journey.
We continued to prioritize the delivery of exemplary care by enhancing access to highly specialized services like Osler’s life-saving heart rhythm, robot-assisted knee replacement, and total hip replacement surgeries; and we were the first hospital in Canada to offer in-house liquid biopsy testing for personalized cancer diagnosis and treatment. And so much more!
We are immensely grateful to all our incredible donors and champions for making these, and many other, advancements possible. It was a truly memorable year with a $12 million donation from Greenpark Group, the largest in the company’s history, and record-breaking Holi Gala, Hockey Night in Brampton and Tour de Bleu events. Our heartfelt thanks to all those who gave so generously to support health care in our communities in 2024, and to those considering an end-of-year donation: we need you now more than ever before.
We are excited to continue to bring our bold, new Vision for 'World-class health care inspired by our people and communities' to life with all of you in the New Year. Until then, we hope you can take some time to connect with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbours to share some time-honoured traditions.
