To conduct research activities at Osler, you must:
- obtain institutional authorization (required for all research involving human subjects at Osler)
- complete all required research training
- obtain an approval letter from Osler’s Research Ethics Board (REB) or the Board of Record in CTO Stream
- have received a copy of a fully executed contract, including a budget (if applicable)
Institutional authorization |
Institutional approval is granted when an impact assessment (IA) form has been completed and approved by all relevant Osler departments prior to initiating the study. The finalized IA form is signed by all authorized personnel and is sent to research administration when complete to inform the contract and budgeting process. Please review the Osler IA guideline and complete an IA form. For more information on the IA process requirements or to obtain the required IA package templates (form/presentation), please contact research@williamoslerhs.ca. For more information about obtaining institutional authorization, please contact the research manager. |
Research contracts/agreements |
If the study requires a research contract, this must be in place prior to conducting any research activities. Examples include:
Osler's research administration office facilitates the review and negotiations of all research contracts. This office also ensures the contract undergoes legal review to confirm that the institution's interests are protected. The final agreement must be signed by an authorized signatory from Osler. We will retain a fully executed copy of the contract. If you have any questions or require a research contract, please contact us at WOHSResearchContracts@williamoslerhs.ca. |
