William Osler Health System (Osler) is proud to announce that Tiziana Rivera, CHE, Executive Vice President of Quality, Research, and Chief Nursing Executive, has been named the recipient of the prestigious 2025 Nursing Leadership Award by the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL). Sponsored by the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), this distinguished award recognizes leaders who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to excellence in patient-centered care and leadership.
A visionary nurse executive, Tiziana has been instrumental in advancing quality, safety, research, and scholarship at Osler. Through her strategic and collaborative leadership, she spearheaded the launch of Osler’s inaugural Research Institute for Health Innovation, uniting scientists and clinicians to drive forward cutting-edge research and advance health system knowledge. Tiziana was the executive lead in co-developing and implementing the first in Ontario, Academic Practice Partnership Model, fostering collaboration between Humber Polytechnic, the University of Toronto, Centre for Healthcare Engineering and Toronto Metropolitan University which has had immediate and enduring impact.

Tiziana’s influence extends nationally, where she serves as an Accreditation Canada Surveyor and mentor to future nurse leaders through her academic appointments at the University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, and Humber Polytechnic. Her efforts in advancing Osler to a Best Practice Spotlight Organization status through the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario further underscore her commitment to improving patient care at every level.
Tiziana will be formally recognized at CCHL’s Honouring Health Leadership event on June 15, 2025.
