The Division of Critical Care in the Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing physician services to the Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital Intensive Care Units. They will also provide critical care response team physician coverage for both sites. In their capacity as critical care physician they will be responsible for supervising learners at various levels, from students to residents. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees as well as Ministry provided rates for hospital on-call coverage and critical care response team stipends.
Qualifications
The candidates must have a Certificate of Registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have certification in Critical Care from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The position requires excellent communication skills in English. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population.
About the program
The Intensive Care Unit at Brampton Civic Hospital is a 24-bed medical-surgical unit and a 13-bed step down unit. The Intensive Care Unit at Etobicoke General Hospital is a combined medical-surgical coronary care unit, with 15 dedicated critical care beds. These Intensive Care Units feature a talented multidisciplinary care team working in a patient-centred environment providing support to the medical, oncology, nephrology, surgical and interventional radiology services. The Intensive Care Units also supports a 24/7 critical care response team. This is a corporate position with responsibilities at both sites.
