The Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time associate infectious disease (ID) clinician.
The clinician must have evidence of strong clinical training and performance in the investigation and management of infectious diseases and emerging anti-mycobacterial therapies. Given our population, a comprehensive understanding of TB and HIV and respective impacts on our population is advisable.
The successful candidate should be highly motivated, flexible, able to work collaboratively with Allied Health, other infectious disease/medical microbiology/respirology and thoracic surgery colleagues is essential. The successful applicant will be expected to be a regular contributor to regional ID rounds and presentations.
Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in English and possess the essential qualities of a specialist consultant including approachability, availability and collegiality. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population. Remuneration is fee-for-service. The successful applicant must have a certificate of registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with an FRCP(C) Certificate of Competency in Infectious Disease in addition to being eligible for credentialing at Osler.
About the program
The Division of Infectious Diseases consists of five ID physicians and one medical microbiologist across three sites (Brampton Civic, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness). The program is supported by the Microbiology Laboratory, the Infection Prevention and Control Department, a clinical epidemiologist, and an antimicrobial stewardship team. Osler’s ID team anticipates continued expansion with Peel Memorial.
