The Department of Psychiatry is seeking three full-time psychiatrists to join its dynamic team of mental health practitioners.
The successful applicants are expected to work in the outpatient, inpatient and emergency room shifts. We have opportunities in geriatrics, child and adolescent and outpatients. The department provides a broad range of mental health services for all ages from children and youth to adults and seniors in outpatient clinics and inpatient services. We have extensive mental health services including rTMS, ECT, Esketamine, brain intervention clinic as well as a comprehensive therapy program supported by a team of nurse practitioners, social workers, crisis workers and councillors. The preferred candidate will participate in the on-call schedule on a rotating basis along with quality initiatives and committee work. Applicants with special interest in geriatrics or medical psychiatry are encouraged to apply. The position requires excellent communication skills in English. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees as well as sessional and stipend.
Osler is an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine: Family Medicine program with regular student rotation. It also provides clinical elective opportunities to Canadian undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. The preferred candidate would have the option to participate in teaching and seek an academic appointment with either the University of Toronto or McMaster University. With the government's recent announcement of a new medical school in Brampton, Osler also looks forward to becoming an academic health centre in partnership with the Toronto Metropolitan University.

The candidate must have a certificate of registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
