The Division of Palliative Care in the Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking two locum tenens replacements starting in June 2025 until December 2025, with potential for a permanent position. The physician will work in a multidisciplinary team environment along with 13 other palliative care physicians to provide consultation for patients in multiple settings including: the outpatient supportive and palliative care clinic, the inpatient medical Oncology/Palliative Unit, hospice and virtual palliative care. The physicians will share in the provision of on-call coverage for the inpatients under the team’s care. The physician will collaborate with regional partners and participate in a regional network of palliative care providers for education and collective growth. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees and HOCC stipends for participating in the hospital on-call coverage program.
Qualifications
The candidate must have a Certificate of Registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have certification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or hold a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The candidate must hold a Certificate of Added Competency in Palliative Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or Royal College Certification in Adult Palliative Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The position requires excellent communication skills in English. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population.
