The successful candidate will be responsible to help address patient load and call coverage across the corporation. The division seeks a surgeon to offer both adult and paediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery services. Completion of a fellowship program in orthognathic, temporomandibular joint or trauma surgery would be preferential. Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees.
Qualifications
The candidates must have a Certificate of Registration to practice from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and hold a fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The position requires excellent communication skills in English. Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population.
About the program
The oral and maxillofacial surgery service offers on-call coverage at all three sites (Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial). Inpatient and ambulatory care is currently provided at Brampton Civic and Etobicoke General. The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is comprised of eight surgeons. The patient population supports a significant volume of pathology, deep space infections, paediatric OMFS, trauma and orthognathic surgery. Our service is fortunate to enjoy a respectful collaborative working relationship with Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery. The successful candidate would be expected to provide care across all three sites as part of the on-call roster as well as within the available elective resources.
