The Department of Anaesthesia is seeking full-time and part-time anaesthesiologists.

Future growth plans include expanding services both in and out of the operating room suites and advancing an our role in chronic pain management.
The Anaesthesia Department
The Osler Anaesthesia team provides services to a diverse array of surgical specialties including major thoracic and vascular surgery, advanced endoscopy such as ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound and cardiac electrophysiology. Our paediatric practice includes ENT, dentistry and endoscopy. We have one of the highest obstetrical volumes in Ontario. Our anaesthesiologists have access to excellent infrastructure for the provision of high-quality regional anaesthesia and acute pain management in support of our patients. Our arthroplasty program is extremely robust. Osler’s anaesthesiologists have been instrumental in the growth and development of a pioneering approach to ambulatory arthroplasty services with great success. The Anaesthesia Department is supported by a multidisciplinary team which includes dedicated and skilled anaesthesia assistants and nurse practitioners who assist with the acute pain service.
Academic, teaching and research opportunities
As an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine Family Medicine program, and a key clinical partner for the new School of Medicine at Toronto Metropolitan University, the Anaesthesia Department provides ample opportunities for members to participate in clinical education with medical students and residents. We are also involved in teaching airway skills to advanced care paramedics and respiratory therapists. Anaesthesiologists interested in research, innovation, medical ethics, and quality improvement and patient safety have access to multidisciplinary support systems in these areas.
