A place for ethical research studies

Osler provides a Clinical Ethics Residency and Internship Program based at Brampton Civic Hospital, serving all of our locations. The programs emphasize a multi-disciplinary approach to ethical issues in the clinical setting from the boardroom to the bedside. We also support our culturally diverse patient population. 

The Resident and Intern will support our Ethics program in meetings, consultations, rounds, education events, policy development and research.

Clinical Ethics Residency Program

Duration:

  • This is a one-year, part-time program, or semester-based part-time program. The term begins in September.

Requirements:

Resident must have some training in bioethics and/or experience with ethics committees. Clinicians with a background in bioethics, as well as recent degree recipients, are encouraged to apply. Consideration will be given to extensive research background in ethics. 

Clinical Ethics Internships Program

The Clinical Ethics Internship Program is for individuals with theoretical background in ethics who want to gain valuable clinical experience in a health care setting. For more information please click here.

Start Dates:

The Clinical Ethics Internship Program commences in September 5th and concludes March 31st.
In addition, some Interns may be invited to complete a Summer Internship from April 1st to August 15th.

Eligibility Criteria:

The Clinical Ethics Internship Program invites applications from individuals with an extensive theoretical background in ethics or quality improvement, including those with an undergraduate, postgraduate, or professional degree. Two part-time positions are available each year.
