Geriatric Mental Health Unit
Care is designed to meet the needs of patients who may be frail, have multiple medical conditions, and different behavioural support needs.

Acute Care of Elders (ACE) unit
The nursing staff on this unit have special training in caring for elderly patients.

Short-Term Assess and Restore (STAR) unit
This inpatient unit is designed for patients over 60 years of age who have had an acute hospital stay and need a short but intensive therapy program to help increase their strength and mobility before they are discharged. The care team includes experts in geriatric care.

Emergency Departments
Each of the Emergency Department teams includes Geriatric Emergency Management (GEM) Nurses. Their job is to help assess seniors who may need extra care and support when they go home so that they can avoid repeat visits to the Emergency Department.
