Gurwinder Gill

Regional Director Health Equity and Inclusion

Gurwinder is the Regional Director of Health Equity & Inclusion for William Osler Health System, Central West Community Care Access Centre and Headwaters Health Care Centre. She’s also a Diversity/Equity/Leadership Trainer, an Associate Professor of Health Equity and an Author.  

For over 25 years, Gurwinder has been leading and managing programs and strategies in diversity, equity and inclusion - her passion is motivating individuals and organizations to embrace diversity and equity. 

Awards and Recognition:

  • Profiled in Canada’s national newspaper, The Globe and Mail
  • Received ‘The Pink Attitude – Game Changer’ Award

Collaboration and Networks:

  • A member of the World Health Organization’s Health Promoting Hospitals’ International Task Force for Culturally Competent Hospitals 
  • Co-chairs the CW Local Health Integration Network’s Diversity/Equity Core Action Group
  • Member of the City of Brampton’s Inclusion and Equity Committee
  • Pioneered the first language-specific/culturally appropriate Long Term Care Day Centre in Peel for those with Alzheimer’s/chronic disabilities 
  • Board Member with India Rainbow Community Services of Peel

Education and Training: 

  • Advanced System Leadership (Rotman’s School of Management), Adult Education, Business Studies, Cultural Competency, Prejudice Reduction, Cross Cultural Communication, Leadership, Public Speaking, Volunteer Management and Project Management
